Natural Treatment For Gout - Here are some natural remedies that can help prevent further attacks

Gout has been around for millenia. It affects a huge amount of people - as much as 1000 out of every 100,000. It's called the disease of kings because generally (but by no means all) people who get it are overweight, drink excessively, eat rich fatty foods - and lead the life that was once only possible to be lived by royalty! Of course I hasten to add that no everyone who gets gout has this type of life style! It can also be caused by stress, or even if you are simply genetically prone to the disease.

It is an ailment which is caused by the formation and storage of uric acid. Due to increased level of uric acid in the blood, monosodium urate or uric acid crystals gets accumulated in the joints or the surrounding tissues and provokes a local inflammatory reaction. Though extremely troublesome and painful, gout can be cured using natural treatment.

There are various remedies all around the internet. Here are a few of those remedies:

• Boil 1 teaspoon of pepper in 1 cup of vinegar and 1 cup of water and apply it on the affected region for 2-3 hours to relieve pain.

• A diet of bananas only for 3 or 4 days is advised for curing gout naturally. A sufferer can take 8 or 9 bananas daily during this period and nothing else.

• Mix 300 ml of carrot juice, 100 ml of cucumber juice, and about 100 ml of beet juice. Mixture of these raw vegetable juices is protective against gout.

• Apples contain malic acid, which neutralizes uric acid and hence proves highly effective for the treatment of gout Thus; it is advisable to eat one apple after each meal.

• Mix 2 teaspoons each of apple cider vinegar and honey in a glass of water. Drink this mixture twice a day on a regular basis to reduce pain and swelling.

• Enjoying garlic cherry paste in the early morning is the most effective natural treatment for gout. To create this paste, just add minced garlic to black cherry juice. (mmmm delicious!)

• Juice of French beans or String beans has therapeutic values and act as a natural treatment for gout. Drink about 150 ml of such a juice daily to treat gout effectively.

• Both sweet and sour cherries can make you feel like gout is a thing of the past. The patient should eat about 20 cherries a day and gradually reduce to ten cherries a day to cure the ailment. Although fresh cherries are best, canned cherries can also be used.

• Meadowsweet leaves, Devil's claw root, Flower tops, white willow bark, and gingerroot are some of the useful herbs that provide relief from the inflammation and associated pain. The link to the report below has some good information on various supplements that you can buy for gout.

• Soak the affected part in a pan/basin of hot water mixed with 2 to 3 tablespoons of Epsom salt until the water drops its heat. Taking a complete body bath in Epsom salts is also a crucial part of gout natural treatment.

Now I'm not sure of the effectiveness of any of these remedies - however here is a very useful report.

Treatment for Gout - Who's Most Likely To Get It?

Has the treatment of gout got any better recently? Or would it be better to carry on with the leeches? So who gets Gout? Is there any pattern to the people who get gout?

Despite Gout being around for centuries, there hasn't been that much research on the subject. You would have thought that because it affects a large amount of people that they would have done more medical research - especially in this day and age.

Perhaps it's because the medical profession see this disease as one that comes on with age. The primary age group for getting gout is male, over 50's. In fact, many males develope the disease as young as 35.

However this disease still affects 1,000 peopl out of every 100,000. That's a pretty big amount - 3 million or so in the USA. More that that in all of Europe. And how many in China, India and Asia?

Gout is responsible for 5% of all arthritis sufferers.

Generally, people who are overweight and drink excessive alcohol, are more susceptable to Gout. Eating lots opf rich fatty "high purine" foods also makes it more likely for you to have high uric acid levels, which again can lead to gout.

This is why this disease was known for many years as the disease of kings. It used to be the situation that only royalty could afford such a lifestyle! Not so now!

Here's something that's not generally reported on the web - there is also a link between gout and sleep apnea! People who get sleep apnea are much more likely to get gout. I picked up this interesting nugut of information from the gout remedy report. It's not actually in the report, but comes as a surprize extra bit of information if you buy the report.

It's all down to these monosodium urate crystals that form becuase the uric acid levels in the blood are to high.

The normal course of action for the treatment of gout is too see your doctor, who will generally prescibe one of 3 medicines:

1) NSAIDs (Non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs)

These can have an effect and help your Gout symptoms - but they won't lower the amount of uric acid in your blood. Don't let this stop you - if you want relief you want relief! But there is a better way, which I will eventually get too!

2) Corticosteriods:

These are stronger medications - they are actually steroids or anti-inflammatory hormones which your doctor will inject into the inflammed area.

3) Colchicines

Extracted from plants that belong to the genus Colchicum; the plant is also known as Meadow Saffron.

These are analgestic drugs and do have some unpleasant side effects. There is some more medical information on this blog, take a look at this page here:

There is an easier more natural way to attack the root cause of your gout. What needs to be done is lower the acidity level in your blood. You know what's good for this?

Yup that's right. It was right under your nose all the time! You need to take small amounts of baking soda a few times a day, and follow a few extra rules.

This results in your uric acid level coming right down and many people report relief in under 2 hours!
